Be with someone who motivates you to be a better person, understands your pace and helps you improve it, respects your good ambitions, helps you unlearn dangerous patterns and habits. Someone who you love but don’t centralize. It is so important to understand the difference between loving someone with all your heart (which is beautiful) and removing your own core by replacing it with them (which is not love but extreme dependency).
"But your best friend is still your best friend. Even from half a world away. Distance can’t sever that connection. Best friends are the kind of people who can survive anything. And when best friends see each other again, after being separated by half a world and more miles than you think you can bear, you pick up right where you left off. After all, that’s what best friends do."
"At some point you will realize that you have done too much for someone or something; that the only next possible step to do is to stop. Leave them alone. Walk away. It’s not like you’re giving up, and it’s not like you shouldn’t try. It’s just that you have to draw the line between determination and desperation. What is truly yours will eventually be yours, and what is not, no matter how hard you try, will never be."
